Pinellas County Registered Sex Offender Arrested For Possession, Promotion Of Child Pornography

TALLAHASSEE, FL -- Attorney General Bill McCollum today announced that a registered sex offender is back in jail after being arrested on charges of possessing and promoting child pornography. Scott Stucky was taken into custody by law enforcement with the Attorney General's CyberCrime Unit with assistance from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the Boynton Beach and St. Petersburg Police Departments. The State Attorney's Office for the 15th Judicial Circuit provided investigative assistance.

An undercover Boynton Beach investigator was contacted by Stucky, 42, online and Stucky offered to transfer over 100 images of child pornography to the undercover investigator. When Stucky was identified as a resident of St. Petersburg, the Boynton Beach Police Department contacted the Attorney General's Tampa CyberCrime Task Force for assistance.

A search warrant was executed this afternoon at Stucky's home and law enforcement seized one laptop, one desktop computer, four hard drives, several thumb drives, and numerous CDs. The equipment will undergo forensic analysis to locate any additional images of child pornography.

According to the Florida sex offender registry, Stucky was sentenced to probation in April 2005 for lewd and lascivious acts on a child less than 16 years of age. His registration information is available online at: http://offender.fdle.state.fl.us/offender/flyer.do?personId=41806

Stucky will be booked into the Pinellas County Jail and will be charged with 10 counts of possession of child pornography, a third-degree felony which will be enhanced to a second-degree felony under the CyberCrimes Against Children Act of 2007, and one count of promotion of child pornography, a second-degree felony.
