Seminole County Man Arrested for Possession of Child Pornography

TALLAHASSEE, FL- Attorney General Bill McCollum today announced a Seminole County man is in custody and will be charged with possession of child pornography. Jason Wilfong was arrested by law enforcement with the Attorney General’s CyberCrime Unit with assistance from the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office, and the Oviedo and Winter Springs Police Departments.

CyberCrime investigators located images of child pornography during a routine investigation and traced the images back to Wilfong’s computer. A search warrant was executed at his Oviedo home and two computers were seized, both of which will undergo forensic analysis. An initial review of his computer revealed multiple images of child pornography, and some of the images were of children as young as five years old.

Wilfong, 23, will be booked into the Seminole County Jail and will be charged with 10 counts of possession of child pornography, a third-degree felony that will be enhanced to a second-degree felony under the CyberCrimes Against Children Act of 2007. Wilfong was employed as a dispatcher for the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office. All of the agencies participating in today’s arrest are members of the Central Florida Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, and the Oviedo and Winter Springs Police Departments are members of the Attorney General’s Central Florida CyberCrime Task Force.
