Orange County Man Arrested on Charges of Possessing Child Pornography
TALLAHASSEE, FL – Attorney General Bill McCollum today announced an Orange County man has been arrested on charges of possession of child pornography. Danny Joe Robinson was arrested by law enforcement officers with the Attorney General’s CyberCrime Unit with assistance from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Orange County Sheriff's Office, the Winter Park Police Department, the Winter Springs Police Department, and the New Smyrna Beach Police Department.
During a routine undercover investigation online, CyberCrime investigators discovered numerous images of child pornography and traced the images back to Robinson’s computer. A search warrant was executed on Robinson’s Orlando home and two computers were seized. The computers, as well as external storage hard drives and other digital media, will undergo additional forensic analysis to locate any additional images of child pornography. Some of the images on the computer were of children appearing to be no more than five years old.
Robinson, 63, will be booked into the Orange County Jail and will be charged with 10 counts of possession of child pornography, which will be enhanced to a second-degree felony. Additional charges may be added at a later date. The agencies involved in today’s arrest are all members of the Central Florida Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, and the Winter Park and Winter Springs Police Departments are members of the Attorney General’s Orlando Central Florida Task Force.
